I am currently planning to launch a new blog centered on motivating people to start their own business. Should I target specific keywords with the name of the blog and domain name like a micro niche site, or would each individual post title and topic be more important for the ranking of the site. For example, if I find low competition keywords loosely related to my site's overall purpose, and write articles related to those topics, will those articles rank as easily as they would if I had made a dedicated site for those keywords?

Go for a single website instead of focusing on multiple niche sites. This way you will be in a better position to create backlinks for your website.

Just focus on the content, either by you making an effort to provide quality one or by getting top notch copywriters. In my experiece, it's kinda the single most important thing for any blog to succeed.

Select any expired domain and choose a long tail keyword. I think the domain name is not a fact to rank in search engine. Then you have to remember content is king so create quality and unique content. Now I hope you will get a good result as soon as possible.

For Ranking factor, keyword match domain does not matter for nowadays. You can choose your own domain and develop your brand.
