    Hi,

I want to rank a homepage of my ecommerce website on around 20 keywords, my homepage is a sales page and I don't want to have very long content here only 600-700 words so what should I do? Keywords are similar so I thought to only include 1 keyword out of a similar keywords, is this a good idea?

Also, google likes the frequently updated websites so what if I put a blog on my website but not make it default? so that I will add a new posts on this blog and make it look like website is frequently updated? Is this a good idea?

Any advise about ranking a static pages would be great,

    Thanks.

If it's an ecommerce site then shouldn't you be trying to rank for your individual products? Trying to rank a home page with little content is going to be difficult!

you'd be wasting your time. Even Amazon and other big retailers rank for individual pages and products for different terms.
