So one of my blogs ranks #1 in XX but only #4 in Google US for same keyword. I'm not very thrilled about XX country visitors because they never buy anything. I want #1 in Google US.

How does G decide what country a URL is most relevant to?

I looked into it a little and I found that a lot of visitors from XX have been commenting on the blog in THEIR language. Also, I found that when searching for keyword at Google.co.XX and setting the language as English, my blog was at #4 - but when I changed language setting to XX then it was at #1. So Google seems to think that my site deserves higher rankings in XX language than in English!

What should I do? Delete XX language comments? Moderate all comments and approve only English comments? Both?

    What would you do?

You just need to keep building backlink from US IP.

Good point but you don't think content language matters?

I'd use auto translating script to automatically convert those comments to English (if they really are related). I'd leave both versions.

Just keep building links. Don't worry about language or IP. I built hundreds of French backlinks to a US site and it ranks #3 for its main keyword.
