Hey guys, i have a niche site targeting a 4 word long tail keyword,
im currently ranking position 2 of page 1 on yahoo,
but with google and bing, im not ranking at all for the 4 letter keyword UNLESS i put it in quotation marks, "like this for example"

which really isnt of any use because people doing searches arent going to do that, so im wondering if longtail keywords are really of any use in google or bing anymore?

Because they seem to be treating each word as an individual keyword rather than treating the whole 4 words as a long tail keyword.

Or maybe i have just been sandboxed?

Its a new domain, 2 months old, anyone else using long tail keywords, let me know how you are doing with them.

What have you done to get your site ranked in Google? Yahoo and Bing are using the same rankings now (at least in the US) and their rankings have absolutely nothing to do with what happens in Google. I have sites with a bunch of #1 Google rankings that show crap in Bing and some that rank well in both. No real connection.

Bing seems to pay more attention to the onpage stuff than Google and Google seems to pay more attention to the links and your exact anchor text. If you have not build any links using the exact anchor text you want to rank for that is what you are going to need to do.
