Let's say you're putting up a new page and you want that page to

automatically redirect to an affiliate offer. When is alright to set up the redirect javascript...Should you do it right away or wait a few days?

I'm just curious as to whether it makes a difference...b/c i rather set up the redirect when I'm putting up the page opposed having to come back and make an update...

Also, should there be a delay with the redirect? 5 seconds? 2 seconds? 0 seconds? Does an instant redirect affect the crawling of your page by the spiders?

Thanks.

you'll probably never rank for a site that redirects after 5 seconds, google is far from stupid.

just thinking outload here, but how about redirecting when the user puts it's mouse over a certain area of the page? (this can be done with javascript).

I'm actually on page 1 on google for the term I wanted to rank for and I setup an instant redirect before doing my SEO. It only took two me two days of SEOin' to get position #9.

what do you want to accomplish... if you are talking about just cookie then you can use iframe for redirects. I think its not long term strategy to use redirects.

@ joy joy I think I've already accomplished what I set out to. I guess you may have a point, though, that doing redirects is probably not a good long term strategy.
