    Hi,

I have changed my hosting 1 weeks ago, from 000webhost (free-edition) to godaddy. So my problem is, I lost my ranking! I imported the Wordpress site (now same as the old - just 2(!) plugins are not the same). I was first on my keyword, in all country/language and all search engines (Google,Yahoo,Bing). I recieved 600-800 visitors per day just from search engines (most from google). And now i just get 250-350 visitors. So can be the host changing is a problame?
    Thanks for answers!

I doubt this.. I have changed sites from different hosting before and have had no problem. Do yoy have WMT? If so go and see if you have any letters from the G. Also go on your site and make sure nothing is blocking Google from crawling you. If you somehow made it noindex this will stop your site dead in its tracks.

Yeah is fact when you changes the hosting some effect and if you are going down then you hosting server is too spammy... if your daily 100,000 views suggestion for your own dedicated server and IP.

I checked, on other sites people suggested to download Google XML-Sitemap plugin (I had that on the old hosting) I hope it will help me. I checked my WMT and there isn't any notification.

if you are on a shared/vps plan with shared IP among users, You might been unlucky enough to get on a IP with not good rep in G

Anyways, i highly doubt that the loss of rankings is because the host change, but still there's a chance for it

also how much time your site was down due to the move? if it was way too many time, your rankings could shake a bit..

sometimes i have seen temp google drops when such a huge offline time has happened and then in few days things climb up again

You can do a reverse ip check here to see if there are any sites that can be dangerous to your site on the same IP. It will actually highlight sites in red if there is possible explicit content.

It will say something like this.

It appears that the web server located at ou812 may be hosting one or more web sites with explicit content. The web sites in question are highlighted in red below. There is a possibility that all of the web sites on this web server may be blocked by web filtering software. Search engine rankings for these web sites may be affected as well.

Did you check your rankings in Google or you are just seeing a decrease in traffic? If Google tried to crawl your website when it was down your ratings will come back in a few days or a week or so.

Yes but gentlemen he would have a message in WMT saying that Google was unable to crawl his site. He said that he had no message. I just dropped a domain I never used and ddidn't take it out of WMT and I get e-mails from G all the time that they can't crawl the site. That is not the problem....

nowadays, google bots visit a page in a busy domain like every couple of minutes. I don't think G is reporting "unable to crawl" immediately

If its only 1 day, your site will be penalised slightly for a week, until you tighten your belt. Google doesn't like sending its users to slow websites, so it'll slow your traffic temporarily, don't worry.

    If I were you -
Check your webmaster tools etc for any errors
Check your htaccess file (it might have changed)
And also check your robots file is working correctly
Check the IP your now sitting on isn't blackened (highly doubt it)

Above all don't worry, its all apart of the game.

I have a site that is crawled 3-10k times a day (sucks my bandwith). My errors come up usually 24 hours later if there is a DB error etc

When you say explicit content - is that pertaining to porn or some other explicit content? I didn't think porn was frowned upon by Google.

I did a check on my site and out of 1080 sites hosted on the server, 1 is highlighted in red. My rankings did drop drastically about 6 months ago and I have no real idea why. Maybe this is it?

I think I got penalyzed! I moved to GoDaddy because the 000webhost was so slow and in the last days they just sucked, just connection timed out and etc, at GoDaddy the first day, my site was slow (very - very slow) but now it's fine. I hope I will get back my rankings:) Thanks for your help! I gave rep for you guys:)

I hope it works out for you but I don't think GoDaddy is necessarily a great solution. I've been with them for 5 years and have had numerous issues with slow sites, down sites, down email and then there is the piss poor customer service. I'm thinking of changing at the end of the month. But then again they have me on a shared server with 1080 other sites. You get what you pay for I guess.

Glad it worked out for you. :) You might want to consider switching to a dedicated class c ip.
