    Hi,

    following scenario:

    I own a domain, e.g. wine.com

I want to rank for Keywords like "buy wine in new york, buy wine in chicago etc."

I do not want to actually push these keywords with a popular position in my shop, as I am a pure online retailer.

Is it possible to create landing pages like chicago.wine.com and rank with those?

There will only be outgoing links to my site (from chicago.wine.com) and no incoming links from my site. ( wine.com )

Maybe I could build in links from chicago.wine.com to newyork.wine.com

I may would create plenty of these pages.

Or is it better to create a blog: blog.wine.com where I will write articles targeting the specific keyword?

These could be better linked only within the blog of my site.

I appreciate your help very much!

Yes that can work if the content is unique and localized.

If you wanted to target things like "Great Wine Pairings" and "10 Cheap Wines That Will Blow Your Mind"... The easy way to handle editorial, promotional, and related keywords is to set up a separate blog from your store and create content there targeting the "extra" terms and advertise your store and products on the blog.

So for example... create a "Wine Living" blog that reviews wines and things related to wine.

The keywords you want to target should probably dictate the strategy you chose.

    Thanks!
    Great!
I hope I can give it a try soon. At the moment I have a lot of work. I already thought about a second blog seperate for my website, but for this project I hope I can work directly with other more popular bloggers together to feature content to promote my website.

However I will also start an own blog for my own site, for the more interesting content.
I don't want to publish there +50 posts for wine in each city and would like to have it in a seperate subdomain invisible on my site.

Thanks a lot. More feedback is welcome. :)
