Hi everybody, this is my second journey on BHW (first one here) and this time I want to keep track of a HUGE project.

I want to rank as many websites as I can, and I am gonna create a lot of new ones.
The idea - I hope it's not silly - is to try to rank naturally at least a few of them, test some niches and make a steady monthly income of 1000$ a month in 7 months.
I already have a few quite new websites in different niches, and within this journey I want to experiment a lot to rank them while creating new ones.

Here's what I have so far:

    Site 1.
    Start date: 09.16
    Monthly UVs in June: 200
Best KW potential: 1300 monthly searches
    Monthly Income: 0$
    Best KW ranking:
    Schermata 2017-07-18 alle 09.38.24.png
This site is based on a seasonal microniche, I really want to rank it before Autumn starts.
It's almost finished and it's composed of 8 pages so far.
I need to create backlinks for it and invent something.

    Site 2.
    Start date: 03.17
    Monthly UVs in June: 700
Best KW potential: 880 monthly searches
    Monthly Income: 60$
    Best KW ranking:
    Schermata 2017-07-18 alle 09.40.58.png
This site is already giving me some income, even if it is on a third level domain. Another seasonal microniche (summer), so I want to try and push it before the season ends.
It is composed of 10 pages covering pretty much all there is to know about the topic, I want to create a couple more pages for it and maybe a blog attached (even if I can't really imagine what I am gonna write! :D)
I'll probably move it to a second level domain, first of all, and see what happens.

    Site 3.
    Start date: 06.16
    Monthly UVs in June: 100
    Best KW potential: many KWs
    Monthly Income: 0$

This site is a bit of a disappointment: it is a broad niche blog, and I almost only outsourced content. Now my main writer for the project disappeared, so I should find someone else.
What disappoints me, anyway, is that I spent around 80$ in content for this site and earned nothing. 0.
This needs to change, and I hope it's going to happen soon: I saw an increase in the number of visits, lately...

    Site 4.
    Start date: 05.17
    Monthly UVs in June: 5
    Best KW potential: still exploring
    Monthly Income: 0$

This site just ranks for 3 keywords on 5th page, and I need to start working on it. I created it just because I heard about the topic from a friend, but I don't really know if it can work or not. Need to do more research about it and create at least 5 new pages

    Site 5.
    Start date: 06.17
    Monthly UVs in June: 0
    Best KW potential: still exploring
    Monthly Income: 0$

Just created, I need to do almost everything on this site: content, kw analysis. I simply opened it because it looked like there was some potential and the price of objects on Amazon is quite high (around 1000$): so far I only have ranked sites that target low/medium price items (except for site 2, which is already giving me a nice income even if the effort was quite low).

    Site 6.
    Start date: 07.17
    Monthly UVs in June: 0
    Best KW potential: many KWs
    Monthly Income: 0
    Best KWs ranking:
    Schermata 2017-07-18 alle 10.06.04.png

This is a really fresh site. I focused on a specific category of products, trying to create really good content (I am an expert in the field). I created 1 pillar article, 3 "Best XXX for XXX" pages and a couple more pages focused on specific aspects of the product (not reviews).
I want to end up the main structure of the site, increase the amount of words in the pillar article, which is now at around 3k words, and create single reviews pages. I will probably add a blog, too, but it's going to be time consuming... Still don't know!
As you can see I still need to do everything on this one, but I think I am gonna be fast because I know almost everything about the topic.
I already have a site in this niche, and what I am trying to do here is fill the seep with my own sites.

As I said, my goal with this journey is to make 1k$ with a bunch of sites, trying to rank the ones described here and adding a few more, if needed.
I will use this page to keep track of all my progress and force myself not to be lazy.
Updates: every time something significant happens or is done.

    Intermediate goals:
1 month from now: earn at least 100$/month
    2 months from now: 200$/month
    4 months from now: 400$/month
    5 months from now: 600$/month
    Final goal:
    7 months from now: 1k$/month

    Hope you'll join me!

I liked your other journey so I'll follow this one too! :) Good luck! You'll have to put in a big amount of work if you want to make 1000$ in 7 month but especially with so many sites it should be doable :)

That seems like alot of visitors already !

You said rank naturally ? (isn't it really hard to get natural backlinks to very small niches?)

Did you use any GSA SER, outreach, pbns or link-building services to rank on page 1 ?

Thank you for your support! This month is going to be good for the other journey, so I thought to open another one to keep me busy and track everything.
I really need that money, so I will put a lot of efforts in it!

    Thank you! :)
    Will need it.

Well, I think I could have done better in terms of visitors...
I am simply trying to do a good kw research and a lot of good content without using backlinks or tricks: these websites are clean, with almost no backlink to them. But I am open to suggestions, and this GSA SER thing looks promising: I will give it a go. Thanks!

Good luck, looks like your off to a great start. How many articles do you have on average on a site?

Just never use GSA links as tier 1 because they are spammy usually ;) I guess in your situation it might be better to look into other ways to improve traffic (more content and some high quality links). GSA can have a hard learning curve so if you're already quite successful in doing what you are doing I'd wait before spending time and money on GSA.

Not so many: around ten pages on sites 1 and 2, and I want to do the same for the number 4 and 5.
The site number 3 has around 20 articles on it, and I need to transform it in something similar to an authority site.
Site number 6 is different: microniche, but with many pages, at least 20, because I want to review singularly each product.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like the easiest thing... But maybe I can try a churn and burn strategy for a new site in a couple of months and learn something new. Just read an article about it on Matt Woodward's site, and it sounds interesting.

@Shaunm has a journey here where he is mainly using GSA for ranking. You might want to have a look into his thread to see what works and which results he does get. He also has a few great tutorials on his website shaunmarrs.com

Thanks for the shout out mate :).

It has a pretty steep learning curve but I have a bunch of GSA SER Tutorials online on my blog that may help you out. Here is my journey thread and its at a stage where I am just leaving my pages to age in and leave the sandbox now but its going pretty well so far, looking forward to seeing what happens in the next three month. Here is how some of the sites are getting on in the SERPs.

I posted this in another thread a few days ago about the current state of SER that may also be worth a read.

If I were you i would focus on 1-3 sites for the start. it's usually easier to rank several mid-sized sites than a lot of small ones. Good luck anyway.

Thanks! A lot of good informations here!

I don't know, hope I can manage to rank them. In the end most of these websites have been online for a while now, and maybe I can now rank them more easily. I also want to outsource some of the content.

    [UPDATE: Day 0]

Today I had a few other things to do, so I only managed to write some content.

    Here's what I have done:

-wrote a 400 words article for site 1. I am trying to target a low competition keyword.
-created a backlink to site 1. I had a Tumblr sitting there for a while, and I finally added a link to the main page (no anchors)
-completed a 1200 words page on site 6. It's a "Best of" page, and I ended up adding just three products to it.
-put an ad on Upwork to find a writer for site 3: I want to go on outsourcing most of the content that I am publishing on this site

I will post updates every time I take action on any of these sites: I try to follow the No-Zero-Day rule for this project.
I will only post updates about various metrics and sales once a month.

    [UPDATE: Day 1]

Didn't really feel like doing something today: I worked on other sites and I wanted to just fly away from my PC. But I see that something is moving on a few websites and I thought that I should force myself to do something. I want to receive my reward soon!

So here's what I did today:
-assigned an article to a writer I found. Good rate, I hope the results are going to be good too. This content is going to be published on website 3. I also found another writer I worked with a few months ago: I want to publish a couple of articles a week, so I hope I have found all the writers I need for this project
-created a backlink on a forum for website 2. Nothing special, just a comment. Let's see if it gets indexed soon and brings me a few visits. I plan to increase the amount of links very slowly
-wrote a 450 words article for website 5. I simply found one of the few searches that made impressions for this site on the Search Console, and answered to the question inside this query
-probably found another easy niche: I still haven't analyzed the keywords well, but the SERP seems ok and I plan to start a website targeting this niche really soon

That's all for today. Keep following!
