I have much slower ram but still able to average 2.8GB/s and have a burst rate of around 3.8GB/s. And it is impressive how much faster doing any kind of IM related work is with it over just a 7200 RPM hard drive or even a ssd.
Using this for majority of programs, along with a nice i7 and OS on a ssd raid 0 setup would make for a super fast IM workstation.

Its not about spamming, as your tying up a large amount of your ram to speed up applications. You can use it to speed up photoshop, video rendering, even browsers can be sped up greatly with it. Some programs it won't be able to speed up as much due to the coding not optimized to take advantage of the cpu as much as it could, such as Picasa, I only achieved a 9.6% increase in facial recognition time of 1700 images(1.8GB in total size) with Picasa installed on the Ramdisk and the images being located there, compared to both being on a 7200rpm HDD
