Raffles?

What if you call it "TheOneDollarRaffle"
Buy some iPod for $100

And say something like, "Each ticket is $1! CLAIM YOUR TICKET NOW"
And the way to get the ticket is send you $1USD through paypal

($1 is just a random number, it can be two, or five)

And let it run... After you get $100, you are in the profits.
Then buy something else for all the money that you earned
Get more in profits, and get something else, make more in profits

Then buy two items to bid on...
etc, etc, etc

I thought of that sometime ago to raise funds to a foundation in Brazil. I still wants to do that this year. no profits. all the money would go to the foundation.
of course I will get the expenses paid by the people who buy the raffle.

Just be careful to be anonymous, raffles without a license are quite illegal here in Canada; I assume they are in the USA as well. I realize this is a blackhat forum... but if you got caught running an unlicensed raffle, you could be arrested.

It's a good idea, just be careful.

Don't run it on a US server. Raffles constitute as gambling in the US... These are highly regulated by both the states and the feds.

I remember we had a raffle for a non-profit organization I worked with and we had a mountain of paperwork and approvals to go through.

Definitely do your best to not get caught especially if you are in the US. As stated above its illegal in the US without being a donation and proper permission.

If its not for a charity its conisidered gambling and big nono here.
