Quora evaluate answer quality beyond basic metrics such as upvotes and views?

On Quora most people focus on visible metrics such as views, upvotes , shares and comments. while these indicators are certainly important , they may not tell the full story of how quora evaluates the quality of an answer and decides whether to continue distributing it to more readers.

Understanding these signals could help writers content that not only attracts engagement but also maintains visibility over time.

I do not think quora looks only at views and upvotes.

I think quora looks at things like read time, comments, shares, answer edits, account authority within a niche, and how readers interact with the answer over time.

All these factors are very important. Well-formatted answers that are easy to read and provide original insights usually perform better than short generic answers. Reader retention is probably one of the strongest signals.

Yes. I would be surprised if they did not. Things like how long someone stays on the answer, whether they continue reading, upvote, comment, or leave immediately likely influence future distribution.

Answer depth,Originality and relevance to the question seem particularly important. I have also seen well written answers with fewer upvotes continue receiving traffic for months .

Yeah, I agree, for sure Quora definitely measures user engagement and the relevance of one's answers to another one's questions.

I think reader retention is probably one of the biggest signals I’ve seen. If people spend time reading an answer vs. bouncing off it quickly, it usually stays in exposure.
