I just made a couple of sites in a small niche without any competitors. Seems like I'm the only one that have figured out a way to make money with it, so that's a good thing. What's not so good is that I'm the least patient guy on the planet and I wanna take the #1 spot as soon as possible.

Its been a while since I did SEO, but I assume content is still a good thing and that links are worth something. I don't think I will need THAT many links to get to the top, but the problem is that it's difficult to be able to use the correct anchor text when making blog comments; they are marked as spam as soon as I use anchor text, so that's next to pointless. I can however get a few links from relevant sites, so maybe that's worth something even if I use wrong anchor.

Anyway - what would be the simplest way to do this? Are for example directories worth anything anymore? Yesterday I was on page 4 on the search result, but now the site is no where to be found. I made a few links yesterday, so maybe it's just the google dance.

I btw have my main keyword in the domain.

Hmm I think that was all - now, what would be the simplest way to do this?

If it really is as uncompetitive as you say you may be able to rank with just on-site.

If not then some good social signals, some web 2.0 should do the job.

Oh, I didn't even think of that one. Thanks! :)

Something "right" and "wrong" to do when it comes to 2.0 atm?

Dont forget to diversify the anchor texts while creation links. Use atleast 70% generic anchors.

Since you've said that not have any competitor for your keyword. So I think you do not need to build backlink to get ranked on first page. Just submit your site to google. Do onpage seo and ping them to index it.

Create a sitemap and submit it to google. Works for me everytime.

No competition should mean that on page SEO should be enough to rank.

I have a site and the only competition is another persons Facebook page and Twitter account. I just submitted my site to webmasters tools and that was that, ranked number 1 for the 4 keywords I wanted. Luckily for me there's not going to be any competition any time soon as the thing I'm promoting is shut to the public and won't be made public.

Having some issues here - my new sites started ranking, and almost without any content I got on the first page within a couple of days. Now however I can't find any of my sites anywhere anymore. Not sure what that's all about; I use https://startpage.com/eng/ to find the position, but the sites are gone. Not sure what that's all about, but maybe someone can enlighten me on what's going on?
