    Hi,

About one year ago, I created a website, and as I was pretty new with SEO, I tried a lot of things on it. Got some keywords ranking for page 2 or something like that by the time. I was not taking it very seriously. After some months, I lost everything because I was using a free hosting and for no reason they deleted it.

Now I've got some time, and I rebuilt the website, but keeped the same domain. Writed myself original content, about 6-7 articles for now targeting different related keywords, did some internal SEO and re-uploaded the site on WP.
Now I'm going to work on my external SEO, but here is my problem : I still have a lot of SHITTY links (something like 3k when I check ahrefs) I did one year ago, mostly blog comments and forum profiles when I was learning Scrapebox and trying some Fiverr gigs at the time. Most of theses links are targeting my main domain, and pages which don't exist anymore now.

To be honest I had forget about them by the time I rebuilt my website. My question is, if for now I built only quality backlinks with manual Tiers 1, will they "overpower" all theses old bad backlinks easily ?

I wonder if I should have taken a whole new domain ?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

First i ask you to check your site is indexed or not. Your new manual quality leads won't overpower them. I suggest you to remove spammy links, but its hard to do. If you are going to invest more time in this, better go for a new domain. Its hard to predict how google will consider those links.

    All the best.

Most of my new pages are already indexed in Google, some are already ranked in page 2 without any external SEO.

connect your website to Google WMT and use the disavow tool to send Google a request to remove the shitty links you don't want (u can download a CSV file that contains all your shitty links from majestic / ahref / opensiteexplorer and paste it in the disavow tool)
    OR,
you can use a new domain and apply a 301 redirect form old-to-newer
    OR,
if the 3K shitty links point to an internal pages under your main domain (not the index.html/php page), you can make the server return a 404 error thus making the links unusable even by Google.

Ok. Yeah, a lot of links are for pages which returns 404 now. So, seems like I don't have to care about these ones. Good.
I'll try to get the others and use the disavow tool too, and see how it turns.
    Thanks!

    So hm, quick update there.
I tracked some KWs with Serpbook. As I can see, my inner pages tend to rank, but just the domain name, not so well. Competition is also much heavier on this KW, but still.

I'll keep trying to work a bit on it and see if it's really penalized or not.

Ok, so looks like I won't get out of this.
I should consider buying a new domain.
If I delete the old one and copy/past everything on a new one, will it be view as duplicate content ?

    Thanks guys.
