I have an url that just by the name alone gets around a 1000 hits a day. I made a site that is in no way related to this url, but I'm having a tough time getting my other site indexed. If I redirect my traffic getting url to my website that I'm trying to get indexed, will the extra traffic help my other site get indexed?

I've done all of that, and also did some backlinking. I noticed the blogspot blog I had my popular url forwarding to was indexed after a few thousand hits without any other kind of seo. So i figure this strategy will help get my new site indexed.

    Home Page:
    It will accelerate indexing process.
If you don't want to use redirection, put image (like banner) in your new site and display it in your blogspot blog. In this case, your site will still get indirect traffic.

Start bookmarking it, then head over to Pingler.com and ping each bookmark. Then sign up for Google webmaster and upload your sitemap.
