Good day, everyone! Just at my office doing some work for a client and realized that I should probably quickly share something that some of you may not be aware of.

You may have your own business and/or clients that are looking to expand their presence online in terms of local directories, and that's going to be a big part of your job as an SEO provider or Business owner. Yelp is great for that. It's good for exposure and its a trusted citation for Google Local/Places.

Spicing up your Yelp page with a video is something that a ton of people look passed, but it does make a different when it comes to ROI, and I've seen it myself with a few of my clients. You can add your own video to your Yelp page and that costs about $50 per month, but if you go with a year of paid advertising with Yelp, you actually get a professional film maker, from Yelp, that comes to the place of business and shoots a video for you, edits it, and places it on yelp - This is included in the advertising package.

I noticed that after this video was uploaded, the ROI increased dramatically. So much that I had the video ripped and now I'm using it for other things (not sure if that's against TOS, but I'm not too worried).

This is just something you can discuss with a client, and it can make you look very proactive about marketing ideas when pitching or meeting with them.

I just thought I'd share this in hopes to increase anyone's marketing knowledge. Have a great day!

Adam, is the $50.00 a month under a contract (say a year, or whatever), or is it "pay as you go". Could a business try the paid service for a month or two in order to see how effective it is?

That monthly fee is if you want to have your own video uploaded, and I believe that it's no-contract. To get a Yelp guy to come film a video for you, you need a year contract to do paid advertising with Yelp.
