I have a site in the final 5 hours of an auction. It is still $1500 below the reserve. I have the reserve at $9500 and bids are at $8000.

The increments between the bids has dropped from $500 to $250 now down to $100. So it seems to be getting to the limit of what they want to pay.

I have the reserve set to the lowest amount I really want to let the site go for.

Now, I am wondering if anyone has experience with auctions and would be able to comment on this.

If I lowered the reserve to the current bid do you think it will trigger the bidding to go higher? Just knowing that they have reached the reserve and it is between them and the other bidders. They aren't wondering "well gee I wonder what the reserve is at." and are just bidding against the others.

    Just a thought
