Sign up for ahrefs.com. Search for a domain in your niche, that is a popular domain and contains lots of links to relevant sites in your niche. For instance, if my niche was DIY home repair, I'd try doityourself.com, houserepairtalk.com etc. If my niche were solar panels, find a bunch of green energy forums. Do {keyword} forum. Your goal is to find aged authority sites in your niche that tend to link to many domains with d0follow links.

Next, look up that domain in ahrefs.

Ahrefs has an option to see all the outgoing links FROM that domain. Select it. You can also select by do-follow links. Their cheaper subscription option gives you 5000 at a time. Sort the list backwards to get more ... like if there were exactly 10,000 domains, get the first 5000, sort in the opposite direction and get the last 5000.

Take that list and go to a bulk domain registrant like godaddy or dynadot, paste the list in 50 at a time. Figure out which domains are registerable this way.

Take the registerable list to majestic or moz, get stats on the domains. Find out which ones have good stats.

Register them. Optionally go to waybackmachine.org and rebuild them as they were.

Tadaa -- your blog network is getting built with expired domains that are extremely relevant and have good domain stats, at cost. Don't underestimate the power of this technique.

Great share, I will merge my current method with yours,I will only make one small twist, instead of ussing godaddy i will use the scrapebox domain availability checker, you will have to do some tweaking like filtering only some tlds and then deleting the tlds etc , but it will be a lot more efficient and quicker, the down side is that you can only check some tlds, but the good thing is that since you are already in scrapebox you will be able to check da/pa you just need to add a lot of free acccounts from moz, and finally you can scrape all the back links of the good domains(do a double check), run a quick excell macro to organize everything and thats it.:D

    Thanks!!

Good idea but I guess you will have to repeat it several times before you get an available domain.

    1. Scrapebox sitemap scraper to get all urls of domain
    2. Use outbound link checker from scrapbox to get all the domains that site links to.
    3. Then use domain availability checker on scrapebox.

    Then check metrics

This is basic outline, there are steps to make this faster. But if you put a little thought into it im sure you will figure it out.

    Another twist:

    1. Gather a HUGE keyword list based on a couple of seed keywords all related to a broad niche. There are plenty of tutorials here for keyword research, no need to go further with this.

    2. Scrape Google SERP-s with the keyword list you built above in step 1. Only scrape first 20-30 results for each keyword. Remove duplicates and trim to root domains in the new scraped list.

    3. Get stats (Age/PA/DA/PR/TF/CF etc...) for each domain on the list in bulk and sort them by the best stats. I usually sort by age and DA.

    4. Now follow phpbuilt guide to extract outbound links for each domain and register expired domain names.

In case you still didn't get it, I just automated the first step on the guide shared by OP, so this twist is actually more of an extension :D

This is for people who can't come up with domain names related to a niche to further analyze in ahrefs and it also saves you time. Good thread as always btw phpbuilt, thanks :)
