    Hey there everyone!

I have recently been scammed for ~$300. The seller of the item I wanted had a great reputation, so I believed him and sent the payment first (unfortunately, as a gift). So now, I cannot do a PayPal dispute process because of that. So I want to ask if there is ANY way to get my money back somehow?

And also, are there any laws (U.S.) related to the online scam?
I mean, people do it really much, there is no sense that they get through it without any punishment.

Thanks in advance to everyone willing to answer!

Oldest trick in the book, if you fell for this just move on with your life, $300 won't made him rich and it won't make you poor.

Are you talking about Freelancer.com reputation or..?

Yeah, that's true. Unfortunately, I made a big mistake and fell for it.
I guess there is nothing I can do about it then.

    Thanks for your reply!

Shame on you, never, ever send payments as gifts. Lesson learned? If I like the person what I usually do it at a few extra bucks to cover for the fees, if not they can cover the fees.

I reported him and they might ban him.
Even if they do, it still doesn't do any good for me. At least others won't get scammed though.

And yeah, I've learned my lesson now. It is too late, but it's better now than later for more money.
