Hey folks, I'm relatively new to IG. I have a few questions about VPNs/Proxies.

This is how I manage my accounts:

Phone 1:
- Automating 5 accounts with Jarvee (2 accounts per proxy)
- Post manually via 4G unlimited data sim (use TunnelBear VPN)

Phone 2:
- Automating 5 accounts with Jarvee (2 accounts per proxy)
- Post manually via home WiFi (use TunnelBear VPN)

Question:
- If I were to manage more accounts on a 3rd/4th phone, is it okay to keep using my home's WiFi for posting as long as I'm using a VPN? Can IG track my real IP?
- Also, what are mobile proxies? How do they differ from regular proxies?

Thanks for reading! I'd appreciate any advice. :)

Yes, IG can track you through VPN, you're safe only if you use Proxy

- Also, what are mobile proxies? How do they differ from regular proxies?
Mobile proxies = IG will detect your account as it's managed through a phone ( but depends of the browser you use / automation software)
Regular proxies = IG will detect your account as it's managed through a desktop browser.

Hope this clarifies it.

Thanks man! That helps a lot. :)

Jarvee is a Desktop-based App, which works on Windows. So how you plan on using it on two phones? (Does this implies using Jarvee on two devices, hence paying two subscriptions?)

Regarding your questions:
1. A VPN is not good for automation, because you will use only one connection per device, hence you can spread your connection through more IPs (as in the case of using proxies).
2. Mobile proxies are residential proxies that have Mobile ISP connections (eg Vodafone, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T). The main difference between regular proxies and mobile ones is that when you buy mobile ones, you do not pay per IP (as when you get 10 private proxies - which you pay a set amount for each IP provided), but you pay per usage, because your provider allows you access to their whole proxy network, so you will use various IPs throughout your session. This is why, you are charged based on bandwidth, not based on IPs
