    Hello!
Appreciate the help, I just started with SEO, moving away from coding. So I have a Magento ecommerce project that I am trying to rank. We are fashion related business and I aquired several new nTLDs.
I am planning to use these as sneaker, apparel review Tier 1 backlinking websites which point to main domain. Further I will be creating more Tier 2 and Tier 3 backlinks which will point to said domain. My questions are:
    1. Can whois information on Tier 1 websites and main website match or should be different? I want to move away from private registration as I heard it hurts Google rankings.
    2. What do you think about whole setup? Can tiered backlinking be applied to a online ecommerce website selling clothing?

Thank you for your time folks.

You are over thinking it.... I did a fashion jewelry website a few years ago... fashion blog + ecom store + jewelry blog + web 2.0 brands did great. Did another poker tables affiliate site and made 5 poker sites that linked the ecom and it jumped to #1 for 2 years. Never had issues with whois being the same... I have anecdotal data supporting private domains being harmful.

nothing proven. I just advize doing what you need to do to make your business work... provided what you do doesn't break laws or upset customers.

So you think it is best to just have a main domain name, setup 1 sneaker blog on another domain and apparel domain on 3rd one should be enough?
What is the meaning of "web 2.0 brands"?

    Thank you for your time!

These are sites like wordpress.com, weebly, jimdo, yola etc. which can be used to create mini blogs or more backlinks for your site.

"enough" depends on the competition you have in your target keywords... if it takes 2 then great. if it takes 6-8 then great.

What is the secret behind Etsy? We basicly sell regular sneakers and apparel, nothing handmade that can be posted on Etsy.

May I ask you one more question. If domain name is a new gTLD, for example http://coffee.club
Do Web 2.0 Brands should like this:

    http://www.twitter.com/coffee.club

    or

    http://www.twitter.com/coffeeclub?

    Thank you!

I don't think it matters too much because there are 3 ways these benefit:

Backlinks - Backlinks from 2.0s to your site
Traffic - searches on 2.0s lead to your pages then your sites
Sharing/Liking - people share pages on your sites in 2.0s

So as long as you integrate them and seed them with good content and update from time to time that is all you should have to do with them. Either brand is fine in my opinion.

Be sure to integrate Open Graph tags and twitter cards on your pages so they get the cool treatment when you and others share them.

Also try adding good quality content to your store as product descriptions etc.

Thank you for info. Open Graph tags is something I was not aware of.
