Hey guys I'm looking to move my non-wordpress website (static site) to a wordpress blog..

My question is will I lose any serp ranking if I do this... I'm kinda hesitant because this site is doing very well, but I think google gives more love to wordpress blogs..

I'm really torn between moving or not... please someone give me the pro's and con's if I move the site...

I only have 8 pages on my static site so the move will be painless.... Any advice will help..

I am a strong believer in "If it works, dont fix it" if your happy with your rankings, dont mess with it, I mean what would probably happen is your site will dance around a bit and end up where it was before but again, if you like where its at, think if the rewards outweigh the risk, I doubt anyone will really be able to give you a definitive answer.

I agree with dragonlube if it aint broke don't fix it! You could always add a Blog to the existing domain and get the best of both worlds.

If you are going to move make sure you plan the move well amd get your 301 redirects correct before you move.

Like the 2 above people have said, if it aint broke, dont fix it. Totally agree.

Anyway, i have a different view all together about wordpress and rankings, i think its great and perfect for non coders and people lacking basic SEO skills, but for people who know SEO and have a bit of coding knowledge, static pages are all the way best when dealing with a < 10 page website

Ya. I agree too. if you get a good ranking then dont mess with it.. If you want to post a blog create a subfolder sub domain then install wordpress in it.
