My advice: learn how to rank a site first, then figure out what you want to automate. If this is something you end up wanting to automate, then learn the tool inside and out. A lot of people don't learn how to use these tools properly, then they end up ruining their sites. Sometimes it's better to outsource this type of work to someone who knows what they're doing.

Also, some of your questions are phrased in such a way as to seek guarantees. There are no guarantees in this business. You are responsible for your success or failure. Don't seek out guarantees, they just give you someone else to blame and prevent you from learning from your mistakes.

Do a Google search for 'Why you suck at GSA Search Engine Ranker' and check out the top result from Jacob King and also Matthew Woodward before you try to use this tool. Many people who try to use it end up using it wrong and you'll do a lot more damage than good. Good luck to you. :EDIT Looks like Jacob King website is down for the moment...

    gsa is good to:
    - force indexing of unnatural things
    - pump up your whole T1 (or even T2)

but you need a lot of referring domains from GSA as fuckers die before links take effect.

so basically you have 100 000 links from only 200 RD as tier 3 = half root domains will die in two months so you will have only 50 000 links now. not to mention another 25% will die in next two months, and links start kicking after a month anyway.

    Cheers pal :).

No worries. I have a whole bunch of tutorials for the GSA toolset here with a fair few case studies for it here.

I have came to accept a 50% survival rate, I have wrote about having upto 80% link loss in the past before and I remember some projects going as high as 90% but after a whole bunch of trial and error I managed to get than down to around 50%.

This. Also take into account some links won't ever index depending on your verified list so it's best to take that into account also.

ive read your post and I use similar settings.

But i doubt i have 50%. probably more RD=less link loss. less links per RD=less link loss.

This tool alone is not enough to rank a website. At least not for me. I've always just used to to boost my T1 & T2. It used to work great for boosting my web 2.0s, but it hasn't been as great as it used to be.

Also, don't forget there are other costs to using GSA. For me, I have to also pay for VPS, proxies and DeathByCapcha credits to deal with captcha that can't be solved by software. They can add up. In fact, I'm also starting to think it isn't really worth it anymore.

Yea probably. I'm sure it never used to be anywhere near this bad though. Its as if someone just flipped a switch sometime last year and turn the link retention right down.
