OK, I have one website that, due to a really stupid error on my behalf, got sandboxed/removed from the serps. The homepage had the exact same content as another page. That is the fault of the domain provider, not mine, but I digress.

I set up a new landing page on a subpage. So it is like this: http://www.domain.com/keyword-is-here

The new landing page got indexed. Its had no SEO work done on it.

Do you think I can rank this subpage?

The website also has dup content in the blog. Its got tags etc with duplicate content. The content is completely different from the landing page. The blog is set up on a domain like this: http://www.blog.domain.com - do you think this will stop my landing page from being able to rank?

    Thanks! :)
