    Hey guys,

my question is to those who think MajesticSeo trust flow and citation flow are good metrics to consider when evaluating expired domain (I know not everyone likes it).

So TF/CF fans, do you suggest to look at these metrics for domain or URL? I always check for domain first, then there is dropdown menu and if you choose URL TF / CF can be very different. I am confused.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I'm not terribly familiar with MajesticSEO, but I do know that I consider their TF metric to be one of the better ones out there. I base this on the fact that some of my spammier Tier 2 properties show DA/PA in the 30/40 range, while my TF range on those properties is usually 5. It seems like the hardest metric to spam the living daylights out of it. Just my .02.

No metric is perfect or a substitute for research. Using TF to look at the DOMAIN seems to me to be pretty legit. Reason being, TF to a page is based on links to that page only. Domain is (if I remember correctly) something more of a combined weight average. So I could have 20 links from Harvard, Stanford, etc to my homepage and my domain would be killer TF. Not so with subpages. Use TF for domain IMHO.

    XH

    Home Page:
Yes . I do use it when finding expired domain.
I believe each different metrics tell a different story.

Currently rule of thumb: (This is the metrics i had for my network service here)
    Page Rank 2+
    Domain Authority 25+
    Page Authority 25+
    SeoMoz 3.00+
    Trust Flow 10+
    Citation Flow 10+

After verify all, then i will make a purchase.
It really work much better then just focus on high PR and DA.
I use to owe HIGH PR website, but i realise they are actually weak PR.

After using the above criteria to find for domain ,
I used my own network and rank for medium competitive term.
10 quality links is just it's took to take me to top 10. (+ some fiverr web 2.0 service to dilute anchor text)
That the power of quality network.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I am digging into this since yesterday and my findings are just as what you've said. It looks like domains with good TF are less likely to be spammed, however from what I see a PAGE with low TF can rank just fine. High CF seems to be sufficient to rank. The bigger the gap between TF and CF, the more likely domain was spammed.

When I originally posted this question I haven't realized that each page has its own TF/CF, that's why I couldn't make sense of it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Off to hunt for new domains
