Hi Fiverr sellers,

I have a question for you. I'm looking to open a service next year (not on Fiverr, standalone) and wanted to offer express delivery options as you see with sellers on Fiverr (ie. normal delivery 3 days, express delivery next day for $20 more, same day delivery for $50).

What is the percentage of customers from your experience that order express delivery? (ie 1/100, etc)

I have been on Fiverr for about a year selling written content for blogs and such. I get orders every week but hardly anyone ever needs it immediately. Maybe it is what I am selling, but it seems most are willing to wait. ie 1 out of 50 want it express. 3 days isn't that long to wait. Depending on what you are selling I don't think I would pay 20 or 30 to cut a day or two off.

Thanks for your input. I could see that with content service people might not want to get it urgently. My service is more personal where its delivered specifically for the buyer and not another entity (ie. blog). I was hoping there would be more interest in express delivery since it would be pure profit for me.

People will ask you to deliver fast if there is no difference in pricing between standard and express delivery. If you charge extra, they will be like "hey, no issues man, you can deliver next week as well". LOL!

I bought hundreds of services on fiverr and never purchased express delivery... as I always take into account a delivery of 2-3 days.

Yes, no one will buy it unless or otherwise it is really very urgent.

Until and unless you have 100's of sales you won't even find a single person who asks you to go for express delivery by paying that extra amount.

Based on my experience as a seller on fiverr, I've completed about 400 orders just this year alone, most of the buyers are willing to wait the normal delivery time, only a few about 1% usually order express delivery. Not to discourage you op this is just my experience and maybe is due to the services I offer, they're willing to wait. I hope this helps. Kind regards.

You have nothing to lose, if you offer express delivery as well. There can be niches, where it works better than in others or different periods of the year, when it works. For instance many people buy the Christmas presents in the last moment, many of those end up paying extra for express delivery to be able to get the items before Christmas.

If it's a low cost item/service, more than likely no-one will opt for ordering it with express delivery, but if you sell something for let's say $50, it can work.

Just make sure, that you choose the courier company wisely, because there are real shitty ones. I just read a few trustpilot reviews of ASOS and they're getting a lot of fire, because of late deliveries (ordering with next day delivery and receiving packages days later), opened/stolen packages. They ship using different courier services (DPD, DHL, Hermes etc.) and they have a lot of issues with Hermes, while almost none with others. ASOS should be dropping them imho, but i guess, they offer an unbeatable rate. So instead of going for the cheapest possible option to maximize profit, make sure that you work with a trustable company, who can deliver in time and don't employ crooks, who stole the packages.

I plan to offer standard delivery of $25 product in 3 days, for $10 more in 1 day and for $25 more same day. Getting it same day for $50 for an impulse buy I think is totally doable.

Unless they have money to spend or need it urgently, I don't think they will need an express delivery. I have been selling on Fiverr for some time, and most people are willing to wait.

Thank you everyone for your valuable input. I will not expect express delivery to be major part of my overall business plan.
