Hi,
Let's say I have multiple subdomains like:
sub1.domain.com
sub2.domain.com
sub3.domain.com
sub4.domain.com
Etc...

If I want to get them all indexed should I submit them all to google in the GSC or is it enough to only submit the main domain.com and it will find a way to index every subdomains theoigh the sitemap eventually ?

To ease the process should I create a global sitemap on the root domain including all the subdomains urls, or do i need to create a sitemap inside each subdomain ?
Thanks

Each subdomain should have it's own sitemap and separate GSC entity. Do not forget about robots.txt for each subdomain.

It's always better to submit each subdomain individually to Google search console for proper indexing of all subdomains.
however one sitemap on main domain with all the other sub domain linked on the main domain is enough . the other option is having separate sitemaps for each subdomain

Thanks. Do you mean I have to create a new GSC for each sub? new google account each time? seems to be a lot of work for say 100 subs!

I'd like to make google think these are separate websites so I can rank them individually. I'm afraid if I make a global sitemap for all the subdomains google will consider it's a whole and same site? Thanks

Submitting the main site might get some subdomains indexed, but it's not a guarantee for all the subdomains. It's better to submit each subdomain as a separate property in GSC for better control and data.

For sitemaps, you can create a single sitemap on your root domain listing all the subdomain URLs, saving you from the hassle of managing multiple sitemaps.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks. I'm always afraid of submitting all my sites or subs to GSC because if one site tanks it could increase the possibility for google to tank the others too (my project is a bit spammy, involving AI content). Best way to know is to try.
