    Hi guys,

    I've started a project on January 2015.

It was a standard website with image upload and after one week I stopped working on it because of other (more important) things.

Yesterday I have checked my Analytics and then... => SURPRISE!

Over 30k uniques in the last few months (every month!) with a bounce rate of under 50%! :O

So I thought it doesn't matter, it's 100% fake traffic or any refferal traffic... But Ive checked my database and the second !SUPRISE!:

I've got over 2.500 people which signed up on my site in the last few months. In order to SignUp you have to fill in username, eMail, password and solve a captcha!

So my questions: Can those 2.500 eMails be real? (from real people? There are mostly yahoo adresses and some other ones) Because I don't find a reason why someone should register on my site for SPAM or anything else...?!?

Maybe it is fake, I don't know and maybe someone of you had the same situation like I have at the moment and could enlighten me a little bit! (I'm really overwhelmed)

    Thanks for reading! ;)

    Regards,
    Peter

Fake sign ups? And why would anyone fake sign up on your site - do they get any benefit from it?

put them to good use, they solved the captcha so there is half a chance they are real

Sounds a reasonable assumption to make that they are real users to me - they signed up, why would they otherwise? Unless its bots or other scrapers and they just filling forms.... But as said above if it has captcha then theres a good chance they are real.

Anyway, there is an easy way to find out - send them all an email maybe something gentle like a reminder to visit the site, or perhaps a targeted CPA offer? See what sort of response you get - whats the worst that could happen?

    Hi guys,

so I've checked many of the mails myself through a "spam-checker" website on the internet.

Most of them are flagged as SPAM.

I don't know why those SPAM users are registering on my site, anyone has an idea?

    Regards

OP discovered the new SEO : don't do anything ;) - It's what works these days. I checked one of my main niches and the top sites are homemade geocities-looking piece of shit sites with links and bullshit all over the page in a 3 column table.

All that investment in reactive design and shit down the drain.

To answer your question specifically OP : read up on MLM and figure out how to process email lists. You've done the hardest part already.
