I'm not really clear on how Adsense deals with duplicate content so the question is basically, "If multiple websites have different domain names but carry identical or very similar content, how will Google deal with them in terms of Adsense payments?"

There would be enough variation in the sites such that the Adsense software would be placing unique ads on each site.

I have looked around on this forum but am still not certain.

Thanks in advance for your kind replies.

I have call this week with our Google reps, let me make sure I understand what you are asking, then I will ask them. They are usually really hazy but occasionally I can get info from them that is helpful.

I just edited an almost unreadable post. You will see the same ads more often than not. If you use multiple ads on one page, the same ad will show multiple times, so you can count on duplicate ads showing up on multiple sites.

If you want to try to get ad variations, make sure the page titles are different.

I had heard rumors that you will be able to use the competitive ad filters to block certain ads on different pages at some point. But that could just be wishful thinking.

OK, I should perhaps clarify...............

What I'm talking about is similar domain names with the same basic content on the individual sites but targeted by the domain names and titles within the site to pick up ads relavant to the geographic area which would be indicated in the domain name itself.

Make any sense?

If I understood correctly your idea should work. The only suggestion I have is include the location you're targeting somewhere in the text as opposed to just in the title or keywords.

Hey, great idea and kudos!

I will do just that!

If you mean like Hotel vs Hotels in Aruba. Then yes the ads will be relevant. I have some pages for 3 star hotels and the ads are different depending on the location of the hotel

Has anyone tested if adwords take the domain name into account? I would be interested to know that. Im going to test that out right now

I put adsense up on a blank site with celebrityhairstyle in the domain and the ads were right on. I would like to see what takes priority, has anyone seen that posted anywhere?

I look forward to the results of that test and appreciate your efforts in that regard.

Your help and assistance is appreciated more than you know!

Well, guys, I came to BHW knowing fookall about this sort of thing and stand as living proof that there are things to be learned here!

Your replies and research (Which research I could not do!) have clearly shown me that I am on the right track for the project I have in mind!
