I am trying to build a website and need funding. I have been looking at some crowd sourcing options but don't think they can pull the capital I need.

Does anyone have any experience in developing a complex website and the cost?

I tried once 5 years ago. Before www.repairpal.com came out I had iGarage. I tried funding iGarage myself and www.repairpal.com got funding and blew right past me. I was myspace, they were facebook. If I had the money first I could have kept up, but the shoestring budget thing was just not working.

Anyone have any experience in this area? Anyone have a site coded from scratch and can share the cost and length of time to launch? Or any part of their experience they would like to share?

I'm trying to go in this time a little smarter - it's taken me too long to get my "balls" back, but they are here, and i'm ready to make another go at it
