Alright so i own a couple of big instagram accounts and i know how to market them to make money aswell as grow in followers and not become a typical "sell-out" page.
But i am facing a HUGE problem with promoting my personal instagram account, i've got good money to spend on promotion but i am so confused where i should go since i cant place myself within a "niche" since it is my PERSONAL account. So buying shoutout(s) is pretty useless.

So the question is, if you would have money that you are able to spend on your PERSONAL Instagram account, what would you do?

I've found the best way to make yourself worth following is by having content that's different, i.e. not posting up the same "personal" stuff as everyone else with things like a photo of lunch; showcasing a different outlook on the world is probably the best and fastest way to build up a real following on a personal Instagram account, probably not what you want to hear but it's something that I've recently come to realize and have good results with by providing unique content and making good use of tags and also pushing the photos to Tumblr-- again with tags. Gaining hundreds of followers per week through this that are real.

Here is my two cents worth.

You need to make your personal account into a niche. Now what does this mean exactly?

Pick a hobby/interest that you personally love and build your account around that. E.g I love fishing so I have themed my account around my Fishing photos / Outdoors photos / Photos of small animals and bugs that I come across while outside / Nature shots.

EVERY photo is themed to this effect. Delete ALL your existing random photos that do not belong to your theme. Even if it means start from scratch.

Then mass like and comment on the tags related to you theme e.g #fishing #camping #outdoors #nature etc.
First impressions are everything so when a user looks at your account e.g someone from a fishing tag, nature lover - they will see that you both share a common interest and will be more likely to follow.

In your bio put 'all photos are mine' to give that personal touch to the account and make sure you stick to that rule. People will respect you more and will appreciate the effort you have put into your account.

You will also find that you will learn to love your own account and actually want to try and take awesome photos to share, rather than uploading random photos for the hell of it...that's what facebook is for.

Currently I have 53K and I am confident that my account is that largest personal fishing themed account not only in Australia, but in the world.

    Hope this helps!
