Question on my 1st blog. no traffic

I am ranked at #7 or 8 on google out of about 10,300,000 on broad position and ranked #1 on google and #3 on yahoo on phrase position working on back links i must have did over 100 but it shows i only have 8


this is my first blog i started about 1 month ago and i have 0 traffic. Today only 4 visits, yesterday 8 visits, you get the picture. little over a month and i only got 1 click on a adsense ad and 0 from amazon. What gives. Is this normal. I am still developing the site , learning as i go but it kind of seems hopeless. I been working on other site the last few days and it is ranked at 480 on google lol another page on it is at #248 and moving up fast but still 0 traffic

is there any hope for this to make just $3

Rank for 10 keywords, then you'll have 40-80 hits a day, then rank for 100 keywords, so you have 400-800 hits a day, then rank for 1,000 keywords, so you have 4,000-8,000 hits a day. More or less the idea of keyword ranking.
