I am working on a particular domain and targeting two main keywords.
There is a 1 word keyword and a 2 word keyword that contains the first word.

Target for the campaign is the homepage which takes 65% of the total back-links to the domain.

at the moment my anchor distribution for the homepage is as follows:

    1 Word Keyword 16%
    2 word keyword 22%
    Plain URL variations 10%
    Brand variations 53%
    No anchor 6%
The consensus for targeted keywords seems to be about 10% from what I have read, my target keywords are obviously a bit over that, but just wondering if the fact that the two keywords are similar means I should really water down the distribution of anchors further - because the single words effectively appears within the anchor 38% of the time.

both keywords were #3 but have now dropped to #6.

I used ahrefs to get this, and incidently, I used a fiverr gig to get the ahrefs report:)

^^ thats true of course, but Im wondering what other people actually use as their percentage of exact keyword, and also their percentage of anything that contains the keyword.

A lot of people have been noticing some fluctuations in the serps lately. So your site might bounce back to where it was. If you want to play it safe start building a ton of urls.

Thanks. Not necessarily worried, just deciding on the next move.

Keeping link velocity low though as I'm trying to keep everything really high quality (as the client is big company).

Just wanted more opinions on anchor diversity.
