    Hey guys,

I am thinking of getting again on the YT game and got a pretty simple question: If I don't see any YT videos when watching the serps in Google, does it mean that ranking a YT video there, will it be easy to rank there?

Any insight would be awesome! :)

From what I hear and from personal experience, it seems that only certain keywords can be ranked onto Google's first page. Meaning that if you don't see any videos on the first page, it's most likely not possible to get onto the first page on Google for that specific keyword at all.

I agree it is very hard to rank certain videos on google. Personally it comes down to key words. Any "How To" videos will rank easily though.

I can vouch that keywords containing 'How To' will rank better on Google. If you do not see any videos in the serp, I would recommend just going with a niche that does.

That's interesting, I had never heard about sth similar before dude..

    Interesting.

Coincidently enough, actually the KW I am googling, is a "how to" KW and there are no YT videos ranking. I think this is a great opportunity! :)

I don't think you'll know until you try. I've had videos that pop to the second page and then with more link building will pop to the first, and then bounce back to the second within a short span of time, like as if Google doesn't want them there. And others I've done limited link building and had them pop quickly to the top of the first page and stay there. I've heard some guys say they won't bother trying to rank for a keyword unless there is a YouTube video there, because apparently there video ends up replacing it, but I don't like to limit it like that.

This is a complex question and there are patterns that would take too long to explain.
But to keep it short, "how to" phrases like stated will usually rank. "how I" is another one.

Then most super long tail keywords are guaranteed to rank.

Long tail keywords are iffy. It depends on the niches a lot of the time.

Like G aint gonna rank a youtube video for "how to prevent heart attacks".
Or "how to prevent heart disease"
    Or "how to cure diabetes"

And the reasoning imo is simple. These are some SERIOUS medical conditions.
So G would much rather rank authoritative health websites instead of a YT video
where some dipshit can spew dangerous advice that might get people killed.

But for less serious health disorders, like "how to treat hypothyroidism" G is
more likely to show YT videos.

I actually have a list of patterns I've written but I couldn't share it all on here.
I just research a lot of keywords and notice patterns. Then I try to find
reasons for why Google wouldn't want to show a youtube video.

With that said, 90% of the time I usually target keywords that already have
YT videos. Its just a lot less risky and a lot more profitable in the end.

Its like hunting. I look for weak, vulnerable videos ranking on page 1, for
keywords that haven't properly exploited or monetized. Then I just pounce,
outrank, and replace with a higher quality video.

For me personally, its less risky and more profitable in the long run than going
after terms you're not sure about.

Any keyword that needs a video are ranked on Google. Like, "how to make a website" "setting up a website tutorials" "iphone5s review" etc.. Hope you got an idea.

Awesome advice, guys! You really know your stuff! :)

I have another question, which might be interesting for more people. Lets say i creat a yt account for cb products or the like and i upload all the videos in 1 account, is there anyway someone could flag the videos? I mean, could there be a reason people could flag them apart from being a competitor? :)

Any insight would be awesome, guys! :)

There will always be flaggers, but for sure less then CPA/YT, however, here you are running legit videos which are harder to ban, so about this you shouldn't have worries :)

i would check the video results and check the top videos of the results. If the video is optimized and has a lot of links and still not on the web results i would avoid that keyword. Many times the videos are not optimized and don't show web results first page.

the accounts don't get flagged a lot but if you account gets ban for what ever reason you lose a lot of work. Better to have one egg in each basket in this case.
