So we run small business where I provide chair, chair covers, table and table covers. I've been doing it for a year now and it's been a pretty good first year for me and my partner. Saying that, we could definitely have done better. We didn't have a website. All we had was a Facebook page until 4 days ago.

My question is.. We do not have a business address. We send our clients contracts and invoices and they have the option to email it back or mail it to my home address. We currently cover 10 counties in the UK. How do we rank our website? Through the use of local SEO (like the resources posted in this sub-forum) or regular SEO?

    Regards,
    Neil

Local SEO you must have an address. I suggest using your home address if you think you will not be moving into an official office. Build citations using a service like Whitespark or Moz Local. That will help Google to understand you are a local business.

    Can't use a P.O. box so don't even try.

If you want to focus on SEO in general you need to build pages out to try and target terms.. SEO is not difficult but it takes time to learn and understand why a website ranks for the terms it does. It's also a crowded marketplace and to be successful can take years. Local SEO is your best bet.

    Hi Neil,

You don't need an address. Just use the suburb/city/area in your SEO keywords. No need for physical address, its not required. EG YourKeywords YourCity.

    Good luck to you!

For local SEO an address is definitely needed. NAP consistency is a must have for a successful local SEO campaign, business citations are extremely important. Good luck
