So I've been using SERPbook to track my positions for a new site.

When I logged in to SERPBook, I received an alert notification that my site's ranking has dropped from 1st to 200+. I thought it was a temporary google dance or something. To double confirm, I even used their integrated live query to see my rankings and it really isn't in the first position anymore.

However, when I use Google's Chrome incognito mode to check my ranking, it was still first.

I logged in to my VPS and check too.. and yeap, it was still in the first position.
And yes, all of them without logging in to Google account. Browser's cached all cleared.

So how accurate is those SERP checkers really?

I don't know about your experience, but in my experience using SERPBook they are quite accurate. Sometimes they miss by 2-3 position, but nothing as major as losing 200 position.

Is it a local term you're trying to rank for? I always ask people this because unless the serp tracker is utilizing a regional proxy from your area, the rankings will be off.

Actually, I am having the same experience. I am still using serpbook as it still offers the best features out there, but its not really as accurate as what others mentioned.

I also noticed that serpbook mentions something about bi-hourly updates. I am definitely not getting that. Sometimes I only get update every 24 hours.

I can say it is 80% accurate.

But compare to other tool like serpfox, serpbook still very accurate.

When I check for my keyword on serp, most of the time it is very accurate, sometimes it miss few positions.

Please wait few days and check it again, maybe just glitch. But for me, it is working fine.

You need to understand that you can't get always the same results, because G nowadays is set up like that.. IP location matters, nearest G datacenter, cookies, browser, and etc.. and etc..

Same thing here. I'd say I'm having bi-daily updates. Other than that I'm thinking it's a nice tool, but I'm might give a try to Scrapebox rank checker plugin.

The interface and the actual graphics is pretty much really simple which is what I like. I don't like too many things in front of my eye. this is just perfect.

From my understanding, Google has many database centers that people randomly connect to. That's why if you notice sometimes that if you google something on one computer another one would show a different result. I'm guessing that's what's happening here.
