I have a website and while finding out the keyword rankings for various keywords....I found out that one of my keywords is ranking on 1st page 3rd position in incognitive mode while I am no where to be seen in normal chrome settings. Anyone can enlighten me on this issue?

That's an interesting question you have there.

As you already know, the search engine results pages (SERPs) is "personalised" to some extent based on your browser language, preferences, physical location, whether or not you're logged into your Google account, and a few other factors. When you use incognito mode, you're using an isolated browsing session that allows you to view the "unbiased results" as that article I linked to put it, however, that article's statement isn't entirely true as your IP address isn't private in incognito mode.

Anyway, my guess is that when you use incognito mode and view the SERPs, you're just viewing one version of the SERPs that other people may or may not be able to see.

Edit: Here's an article I just found on SEMRush that refers to the SERPs in incognito mode as a way to see "more accurate search engine rankings": http://www.semrush.com/tips/keywords-seo-ranking/. I'll probably look into the problem a little more tomorrow morning.
