Hi, i am seeing a lot of twitter accounts getting verified with little amount of followers and being use to scam. How is that possible? I thought that accounts should be verified by real people.

What's up with your screenshot? In yours, the twitter handle is for the guy with 1500 followers but the name and profile image is for a guy with 950k.

Also, it's possible to create fake media campaigns for people & build up an entire fake persona around them & then submit the verification request to Twitter.

Yes, that is what I am saying that it is being used to scam by impersonating other people. The capture is from a few days ago, it seems that he has edited his profile to impersonate someone else and continue scamming. I don't understand how it's not banned

yes, that was what I thought, but I don't understand how someone could verify the account :)
 
both accounts are from 2009, same bio, same link, same almost everything, ok so what about they're using the same name as a real person, then submit a request using the PR the other person already have and after verification they switch their name, does it make any sense?
 
I've been doing some research and it looks like several verified people's accounts were hacked. It seems that it was by the same person, since I was investigating 3 accounts and they posted similar messages on the same days. Apparently that person has managed to hack several accounts of verified people, posing as other people and promoting scams. I don't know how he would have managed it, but it is rare for this to happen.

So he has not managed to verify accounts to scam, he has hacked several accounts of verified people to promote scams.

Here is another from a female PSG player that was hacked the same day
