i'm about to create new channel and i wanna ask about video ratio

so i have 2 options

1. vertical (1080 * 1920)
2. horizontal (1920 * 1080)

which one is best? because most ppl are watching from phones so it make sense to make the video ratio vertical right?
what about ads? are they same for both ratios?

EDIT: is the RPM low for vertical videos?

thanks

horizontal (1920 * 1080) for normal video
vertical for shorts
------
keep it simple, and when you grow your channel.. ask your viewer and check the analytics.

For normal youtube videos, I'd go with 1920x1080 because that's the standard and recommended.

But for YT shorts, I think 1080x1920 might work well, don't have much knowledge about shorts tho.

Use both ratios, for normal videos the first option while for video shorts use the second.

appreciate the answers guys....
the type of vids that i want to make work well with either of those ratios so i thought maybe i can just go for vertical for all of them, that way i can just cut and turn any of them to shorts

but the point really is ADS, if the RPM is low for vertical vids then i'll go with horizontal.
