I've heard the following about Germany and not sure if it is true or not.

    1. Because of America winning WW2 and how the reunification was in 1990, Germany is not a real country. And is actually a company that the United States owns.
    2. German residents are not allowed to buy cars because of the U.S. owning Germany.

I'm just joking around, I still can't get over the fact someone was saying this on BHW

I dont know German, but I did search for it on Google some. One guy is claiming that Germany doesn't have a constitution, because it has "Basic Law". But the "Basic Law" is the constitution.

It was approved on 8 may 1949 and came into affect on 23 may 1949. And it was Germans that came up with it,the allies just approved it so they could transfer power over. They suggested the idea of the law, cause there was no funcition government, and Germany needed a government. They just didn't want another racist regime

If you can provide legit documents that it is still under U.S. control I will do my part in the U.S. to help get rid of it still being occupied by the U.S.

It was finished in 2006,then if your counting additional changes. Thats the same as saying the current U.S. government was created in 1992. Why don't you setup a website about it and monetize it?

Totally untrue. Germany is a parliamentary republic, owned by nobody.
And yes of course are we allowed to buy cars. Never heard of Mercedes Benz cars or BMW? These are German companies.

@DieMueke: Calm down. OP asked a question, nothing wrong with that. No need to call him or all americans stupid.

You never know :D When I was in the US for holidays, I heard some weird things about Germany. Like this one guy who said he likes Hitler, when I said I'm from Germany.
Another american guy asked me, if we got running water in Germany. He thought we need to get our water from a water well. Lol!

But I guess it's because Germany is so far away from the US and some americans just don't care much about it.

You just failed here :D If you where the owner it would be "FahrzeugEIGENTÜMER", as there is a difference between "Besitzer" and "Eigentümer" :) If I´m writing with a pen you own, I´m the "Besitzer" and you´re still the "Eigentümer"!

Ich behaupte nicht nur das ich Deutsch bin, sondern ich bin es.
(I just said, I do not only claim I'm german, I am.)

I was answering the OP's questions, nowhere did I said that you said you aren't allowed to buy cars in Germany.

It's just laughable what you're babbling. You do realize there's a difference between a Fahrzeugbrief and a purchase contract don't you? The Fahrzeugbrief is neither a purchase contract nor is it a deed of ownership, the owner (Eigentümer) of a car isn't mentioned in it at all. The Fahrzeugbrief only mentiones the Besitzer of that car, but Besitzer and Eigentümer aren't the same.
Do you even own a car? I doubt it. Because if you would, you would have obtained a purchase contract and that would say clearly you're the owner (Eigentümer).

And you really got the nerve to call others stupid, when everything you said is just plain wrong? Get real and stop this tin foil hat bullcrap!

Haha you just failed again! Big time! :D:D Here´s a link for you, in german so you can read for yourself that there´s a difference!

    Code:
    http://www.cosmiq.de/qa/show/56993/Was-ist-der-Unterschied-zwischen-Eigentuemer-und-Besitzer/
And a nice quote I found for you :)
That´s basic knowlegde, get a BGB and read that, will help you a lot, and why the hell are you so insulting? You are probably the one with bad education..

Dude seriously, were you dropped on your head as a child? Everyone knows that in German Besitzer and Eigentümer are NOT the same. Ask a lawyer, he will tell you.

What the hell are you talking about?! Once you say BGB doesn´t work and then you´re quoting one of the major parts of the BGB, the Abstraktionsprinzip/Trennungsprinzip. You´re being so contradictory....You must´ve smoked some crazy stuff :D

What´s wrong with my the personalausweis? "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" is standing there, what is wrong with that?

    seriously... no need to flame...

even if I'm a german citizen and I think this question needs to be a joke, I know that a lot of countries still even think there is west and east germany seperated by a wall or that Hitler is still leading the country (even if he would be now over 120years old).

So... we're allowed to buy cars, we're even allowed to by mobile phones and use internet :) and no, Germany is not a company which belongs to the US.

Germany is a very strong business partner for all countries over the world and our current leader, Angela Merkel (yeah, a woman ^^), increased the relationship to several world leaders significantly.

If Germany would belong to the US I don't think the country would have such a strong economic power and is not affected by financial crisis.

    Cheers
