I've heard the following about Germany and not sure if it is true or not.

    1. Because of America winning WW2 and how the reunification was in 1990, Germany is not a real country. And is actually a company that the United States owns.
    2. German residents are not allowed to buy cars because of the U.S. owning Germany.

I'm just joking around, I still can't get over the fact someone was saying this on BHW

It was approved on 8 may 1949 and came into affect on 23 may 1949. And it was Germans that came up with it,the allies just approved it so they could transfer power over. They suggested the idea of the law, cause there was no funcition government, and Germany needed a government. They just didn't want another racist regime

If you can provide legit documents that it is still under U.S. control I will do my part in the U.S. to help get rid of it still being occupied by the U.S.

It was finished in 2006,then if your counting additional changes. Thats the same as saying the current U.S. government was created in 1992. Why don't you setup a website about it and monetize it?

Totally untrue. Germany is a parliamentary republic, owned by nobody.
And yes of course are we allowed to buy cars. Never heard of Mercedes Benz cars or BMW? These are German companies.

@DieMueke: Calm down. OP asked a question, nothing wrong with that. No need to call him or all americans stupid.

You never know :D When I was in the US for holidays, I heard some weird things about Germany. Like this one guy who said he likes Hitler, when I said I'm from Germany.
Another american guy asked me, if we got running water in Germany. He thought we need to get our water from a water well. Lol!

But I guess it's because Germany is so far away from the US and some americans just don't care much about it.

    seriously... no need to flame...

even if I'm a german citizen and I think this question needs to be a joke, I know that a lot of countries still even think there is west and east germany seperated by a wall or that Hitler is still leading the country (even if he would be now over 120years old).

So... we're allowed to buy cars, we're even allowed to by mobile phones and use internet :) and no, Germany is not a company which belongs to the US.

Germany is a very strong business partner for all countries over the world and our current leader, Angela Merkel (yeah, a woman ^^), increased the relationship to several world leaders significantly.

If Germany would belong to the US I don't think the country would have such a strong economic power and is not affected by financial crisis.

    Cheers
