How high has your electricity bill risen?

I'm gonna be doing a home setup and either tomorrow or next Friday I'll be buying a cheap dedicated
desktop to run it on 24x7 or all day/night and then leaving it off the same day/night to save money.

Just curious as to how much extra my bill might be when doing this.

Since I hate monthly bills and I'll need to be paying monthly for the proxies, indexing service and captcha
service, would much rather avoid another $40+ for a VPS to use when I can do that part at home.

    http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/electricity-calculator.htm

If you plan to push the PC to 100% CPU 24 hours a day at 500 watts then it will cost $30+ a month.

This depends on where you live since electricity cost will be different.

Not much when I run from home. Works fine on my old Surface Pro and maybe ticks 20p (30 cents) of electricity a day at local rates.
Even though that is the case there are VPS solutions that would run to not much more than that per months ($20?) and offer a 1 gig fat pipe and remove the risk of my own ISP banning me.
