I'm sure I might back myself into answering this question for myself, but the question still nags at the back of my mind: Why don't the cream of the crop posters at BHW make a run at a full on legit business? I know that depending on the level of black hat technique you're using it's a fools errand, but after having spent a few months reading through the knowledge here, while at the same time having read countless, "Follow me on a goal to $100 a day through [Insert Marketing Medium]" posts, it does seem that there are bigger possibilities.

I suppose a lot of this boils down to most people wanting to "do it themselves", but when you think about it, a ton of the sites we all use to generate revenue (Adwords, Amazon, eBay, Clickbank, CJ, SaS, etc.) are the ones *really* raking in the dough.

So how about it BHW? Why hasn't anyone here ever initiated some sort of communal business to dominate in search and kick the CL's and Amazons out to the curb?

I might be wrong in saying this - but the biggest earners here are already either millionaires or earning many thousands of dollars a week.

Plus there's already some business stuff going on here - it's just put together so well it isn't immediately apparent.

All in all the big earners are making more than enough as it is.

That's a good idea in theory, but in practice, it would most likely be a nightmare.

Unfortunately, BHW would end up having too many people fighting over who is doing the most work and who is not carrying their weight. And you would have people arguing over the decisions being made, currency exchange, employee insurance, the differences in the varying laws of different countries, and so on, ad infinitum.

Nice thought though . . . :)

Cheers!

Internet marketing is a business at the end of the day. You need all the same marketing and management skills. People with initiative make the big money whereas people with none make cents and look up to the big boys.

Only difference for me between a "business" and my Online income is i dont pay tax on my Online Income :)

I'm generally agreed with everything said so far. I'm definitely new so the millionaires and others who may frequent the site are most definitely not apparent to me yet.

I'm still just struck by some of the opportunities though... I've worked for years in a WH capacity for SEO for mid/large size businesses, yet reading some of the things here I truly wonder why someone here doesn't do an anti-VC company and instead pool resources to make the next big thing.

As mentioned, there might be millionaires here, but what about leaders of a $50M/year+ company?

Like I said, I'm sure a lot of it wouldn't work out, but I still can't believe some of the crap sites out there with huge revenue streams or funding that just plain suck.

This is definently an interesting discussion none the less, however, keeping an active business structure within the rather cutthroat ranks of BHW would proof faulty at best, especially in taking a more traditional wh approach. All the business I do it 100% wh and I am very proud and happy with my success in that arena. However, I am always a student of learning more techniques, tactics and skill sets that may prove worthy of my personal modification and implimentation into my tool set.

Interesting thought none the less though.

Very interesting...but im sure there are some ceo's, vps's and etc who browse here occasionally that are part of $50M+yearly companies. Blackhat is larger than just this forum or any other forums. You can take the tactics here an easily apply them to a brick and mortar business. You never hear about the next big thing until it is the big thing.

if by 'business' you mean just having people work for you, then plenty of people here already do that with outsourced work.

at the end of the day, it's just about making money, and people here are making plenty as it is.
