Question: Am I on crack or is this a really cool trick?

So yesterday I copied & pasted something from BHW into notepad, for later retrieval. I have one txt file right on my desktop specifically for this purpose, every time I see something interesting it gets added to the text.

Here's the interesting part: the thread I copied the info from got deleted. (No, I won't say what it was but feel free to guess all you want.) And some of the text on my desktop was garbled! Not all of it, mind you. Everything else was fine, and even some of the text from the thread I copied was fine. (The generic "Hey look at this blah blah..." stuff.)

Now this may be a dumb question, I am not a programmer and don't know shit about code, but is there any way this could have been done deliberately, since the thread was deleted? Or, as suggested earlier, am I just on crack / paranoid and didn't copy it right in the first place? (I'm 99.9% sure the text was there yesterday.)

If the text self-destructed somehow, I bow humbly and respectfully to whomever in the BHW community was in any way responsible for it. And, um... if this is something the noobs shouldn't know about, I apologize in advance. (In which case, this will get deleted too anyway.)

Not possible, you either screwed up copy and pasting it, or your harddrive may be playing tricks

Fair enough. Interesting coincidence, I just had to ask. Thanks for the replies.
