Question about YouTube description

I am gonna paste to my video description someone's content. Is it bad idea? Description must be unique? If I do that my video will not rank or rank worse in Google/YouTube?

If you are looking to rank well - then you should consider writing an unique description.

Do you mean that you want to copy a bigger YouTuber and use their description to rank you video? If so that is not a good idea due to the fact that you got a lot of competition on those words.
Do some research with VidIQ to know what keywords others use and make changes or ad words to be unique

I mean to paste part of someone's article, things like that. I want to upload a few videos and it is not easy to write long, unique description for each of them.
