Hey everyone,I need your help on something I noticed my competition doing...He is ranked 2 just below the official website of the "keyword" in which gets 246,000 searches a month on Google.

Now when I searched for his backlinks I noticed he has another 10 websites which looks identical to the website I am trying to surpass.And Each website is linking back to each other...And there all very similar with .com domains and each related to the same niche..All in which are PR 0

In total they all have around 40 backlinks each...

So my question is...What is this called? can this be automated? Should I copy them???? is this considered link farming? or what can this be called? It looks really effective as he is scoring high for each keyword of that niche!

Thanks your time my fellow BHW People.

If he has them on different Class C IP addresses, then he should be fine - and the way it sounds, I think he is otherwise google wouldn't have ranked him that high.

I don't personally do this, but go get different hosting accounts, each one with a different IP, and then began linking naturally - if you want to copy him, that is.

Thanks for your reply..hmm I figure he must be using different host...hmm to have 10 different host..isnt that too many? Does anyone have that many here at black hat world? I could copy the method I guess with different niches and rinse and repeat....Interesting method....I am surprised google hasnt penatly him for having same content for all 10...its not all the same but half is!

Make sure you don't link back all sites together. You can link them this way:

A ---> B,C,D
B ---> C,D,E
C ---> D,E,F
(...)
X ---> Y,Z,A
Y ---> Z,A,B
Z ---> A,B,C

That's just an example where all of your sites get three one way links.

Then you can send 2-3 one-way links with your anchor text from all of them to your main site.

If you set your sites on a few different IPs and aged domains, and send a high-PR quality one way link to your main site, you should have good results.

Is there any other possible method I can do to make things easier such as possibly making blogs from different places so that their ip may be different...Do you think that would work out the same? and then just SEO the Blogs and relate them heavily to the niche with keywords...Like wordpress and Blogspot and other blogs...just buy a domain for each of them...is that possible I never got into blogging before....But this way it would be alot cheaper from having to pay for all the different hosting compaines.....

I am not sure I follow. If you buy the domains, you will have to host them. Blogspot and wordpress service offer subdomains like yourblog.wordpress.com. So if you want to have your own domain, you will have to use WP 2.6 and install it on your own server.

Also, you don't necessarily have to pay for different hosting companies, some hosts allow you to buy additional IPs for the same server.

Ah I see I see,thank you for clarifying that..I do not know much about how it worked with blogs and hosting of them...I will definitely look into buying additional IPs! Thanks...This is going to be one of my already many projects I am working on I will post back with results once Done so hopefully this can be useful information to others as well.

Or go and write some original content...get some decent software..try fantomas for a posting deal...and beat him at backlinks from different IP classes.

Don't rule out free hosting. There are some w/o ads and they'll keep your budget intact.

This is called a content network, fantomaster has something similar; his service is called 20 links a day

One of my sites competitors has 0 backlinks but he ranks number 1 on google when there is approx 100 websites with exactly the same content. Obviously not same text etc but same concept and keywords, that I cannot understand?!?

No problem, you should have good results with this, especially if you keep being active at BHW. I am new here too, and this forum rocks :yield: ppl are not as selfish here as they are at DP for instance. More willing to share actual stuff instead of just throwing bones here and there :)

Backlinks are not everything. And pagerank is just an indicator. I'd say the most important element is your titles along with general onpage optimization such as meta-tags (still used by Google), keyword density, outbound links etc...

I have already ranked #1 on Google for short-tail keywords (kinda popular too) with a new site, new TLD, duplicate content and NO backlinks/PR/black hat ;)

Just onpage, white hat optimization (are we allowed to talk about white hat here? :D)

Wp multi-user installations on several different hostings or hit up rjhere for blogslammer that will post to existing free wp mu's thereby managing your links on separate c classes.

If you are into hitting this idea head on, get a serious amount of c classes yourself, say a 10-20 c-block plan from gotwebhost or seohosting and build mu's all day. On every c block you can have your specific niches built onto the mu with wp plugins running like caffinated content generating articles, yahoo answers, etc with keyword specific anchor text links back to your main money sites.
