So someone here posted in the Want To Buy section that he is looking for social signals a few days ago.
I pmed that guy, saying I can provide some and got an infraction for that. (We are not allowed to offer services outside the marketplace)

I dont want to get another warning, so I reread the forum rules, but I'm still not sure what I'm allowed to do.

If someone posts in the WTB section:
I am not allowed to offer that guy anything via pm. But am I allowed to ask the OP to pm me because I have an offer?

And how about the Hire A freelancer section?

Its strange. If the guy was asking to buy and you PM'd him your offer I don't know if this is consider spam or not, but in the end the mods know best.
Probably they are getting more strict about this as there are a lot of people getting scammed this way.

For next time just replay on the thread to be on the safe side.

    Nonilol,

If you are responding to a Freelancer or WTB, you can PM them or skype if that's what they request in their thread. aka, don't pm them if they ask you to post in the thread. Don't skype them if they said to PM them etc.

    OS

OP, what OldSalt is saying that you must read the HAF|WTB thread-owner's instructions carefully and use ONLY the mode of communications he or she is suggesting. Other modes would be considered as spam by the thread maker, and it can be reported by him/her. Quite reasonable, isn't it? :)

It also shows whether you, as a bidder/seller/service-provider, have read the instructions carefully or not, and it would annoy any job-giver that when you're not following simple instructions mentioned in the offer (OP), then how would you follow his crucial job-details and work out accordingly in toto.

I am still not sure what I did wrong but maybe it was this.

So I hope if I just pay some more attention when I m reading I will be fine.

    Thanks for the answers!

and yet, the guy who wrote a PM for a scammer to scam another member is still here. lol This was one of my favorite SLs http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/shit-list/757423-scammed-extracode.html

"I got scammed and helped the scammer scam someone else" lol

The one where the guy got scammed by a spoofed bhw mod email was my favorite up until now.
