I was thinking about creating a social media website, like facebook or twitter, how much would it cost and how what steps should a person take to create them?Don't anybody have any experience with having sites like that?
Of course it will not be as huge as that two,but I think I have a decent idea and it could become popular.

You could easily develop a niche related social media network where people can go to and establish an identity in relation to the niche market they wish to get involved into and advance with banners related to the website and offer services catered to the need of the developed infrastructure on a mass scale.

I understood, but how social media site is created? I mean,I think that my idea can get pretty big and I want to make a good, profesional website,so there are 2 questions,I need to hire the workers, how much would it approximately cost? Because I think I can ask investors about investing money.
And second, this programmers I will hire can easily steal the idea, can't they?

Programmer actually doesn't still idea , they just work whatever you want. But if you talk with third party ( who make programmer work for them ) there is a chance they could steal the idea if they think its a very good idea.

Well depends on how specific your social media is & how much people you're expecting.

Development with good programers can be around 20$/hour the lowest. You'll need also a good designer. You'll need a host, probably a dedicated server, domain names.

I think with a good $2K You can develop an ok starting site.
