Hey, my connection is RoadRunner Turbo, and I usually average somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 mbps download speed. What is the optimal amount of connections I should set for harvesting, link checking, fast posting etc.? Furthermore, does the amount of proxies you have have to be the same or greater than the amount of connections you are running? Lastly, does having higher connections to a degree effect the accuracy and erorr rates? I am a newb to this thanks for any input you guys can give!

Generally the higher your bandwidth the more connections you can use. Having said that though every isp has a different tolerance for what you are doing so you are going to have to do some testing to find the best number. Pick a number and keep raising it until you start having problems and then back off a bit. The number of connections can affect your error rates, when that happens you just need to back off a bit from what you are using. As far as the number of proxies that somewhat depends on the task at hand and the quality of the proxies you are using. If you are scraping with too high of a connection to proxy ratio you will be blocked by Google too quick. For posting that is not the issue but then you have to worry about whether or not you will get time outs from the proxies themselves.

I would start with the defaults and then play around with the settings until you get the best results you can get.
