hello to everyone,

I have a question about scrapebox footprints searches. For the pros it may be a very novice question. I haven't worked with the tool yet, but I'm curious if this can be done.

I found a very specific footprint in the javascript code of a plugin because it repeats the name of the function in the code in the same way every time.

If I included that line of code, could sacrapebox find the other sites that use that plugin?

Thanks in advanced

I think Scrapebox only searches thru the text on the webpage, I could be wrong though maybe @loopline can offer better insight

Yeah, @oopline sure does. I wish he could answer the question.

ScrapeBox doesnt really do the searching, it just takes your keywords/footprints, searches them in the search engines you select such as Google and returns what the search engine returns.

So if you have a special footprint if you manually search it in Google that's what ScrapeBox will return also. Search engines wont search HTML code.

However what you can do is scrape a lot of URL's based on your keywords then use the ScrapeBox Page Scanner addon to scan those URL’s to determine if each site has a specific pieces of HTML, javascript on the page and then it can save all URL's matching your footprint to a file.

thanks for the answer. With which tool could you do those code footprints searches?

If your footprint works in a browser on google.com you will get the same results in scrapebox.

If your footprint does not work in google.com in a browser - because it is code based (which is what it sounds like, without seeing it) - then no normal search engine will work. Search engines let you search content on a page, but not html/code

So something like Built With or Nerdy Data are paid search engines that let you search code.

But you could search keywords with scrapebox and then qualify those pages to see if they have the plugin with the page scanner addon. So it kind of depends on what you want. you could test out builtwith, I think, and it will tell you how many times it has that code appearing. Or perhaps nerdy does the same. That way you can see if its viable before you purchase. Just depends on your budget and approach and wether or not those sites have scraped enough of the web that happens to have your code.

Else if its on the home page you could just buy a list of all the domains on the internet and then run them thru the page scanner in scrapebox. Will take a minute to scan hundreds of millions of domains, but it would work.
