I've just bought scrapebox a few minutes ago, and so far i don't really know how to use it. one of my questions is do i need proxies for small blasts? also how many of them, and what kind (private, shared). thanks for your help.

Always use the onboard harvested proxies for harvesting blogs, etc, and your own private proxies for posting. You don't need many, and a couple of BHW members offer very good services.

You'll have a much better posting success rate if you post using private proxies.
When I started, I think I was only using 4, and the success rate doubled.

    Good luck!

If your comments are spammy, irrelevant, offtopic, etc. don't bother using proxies at all. Your domain will be marked as spam and you won't be able to comment on Akismet enabled blogs anyway. You will need proxies for harvesting URLs though. Public proxies will do the job.

It's an Algo, of course it can be gamed.

SB has an option for you to harvest proxies or you can use a service like proxylist.co and get good proxies to use it.

Could you not make a "tinyurl" which is a redirect to your domain?
This still counts as a link because its a permanent redirect, and it's not the same as your main domain either... anybody tried this? Does askimet follow these tinyurl's ?

I don't know. But I think it will further reduce the value of these backlinks.

If you do a small blast, like 500 url's you can do it without proxies. Download some of the auto approved blogs lists shared here and go. ;)

What's the point of commenting on auto-approve blogs via proxy servers?
It doesn't make sense at all. It will just slow you down.

I am not sure how the akismet work but your IP might get banned if this blogs had akismet enabled. And specially if you blast multiple url's from one domain.
