I read all of these threads a few weeks ago about ranking Pinterest boards but still to this day have not been able to rank my pinterest boards basically at all, and their longtail low comp keywords. Instead my individual pins are the things ranking, a lot in top 10 pages 1 i see is on page 2 right now, why is that? I thought the boards were suppose to rank easy and that is what I have been pointing the backlinks at.

I have another question, I have just been pinning/uploading regular images related to the page im linking to with my pins, but when people view the pin there really isnt any call to action that would let the people know to click on the picture and it would take them to a site, so would it be best if one was trying to rank pins to uploading images that have "click here" or "see more here" type messages on them?

people on pinterest usually know to click on the picture for more information since that's the main focus of the entire site.
maybe you can watermark your photos with your URL but saying something like "click here" sounds too spammy.
or write a detailed description that says to continue on to your site.
